Around 52% of social media users post “Stories” on Facebook or Instagram, according to new data released by Promo. If this statistic would have been released when Instagram first came out with their “Stories” feature, people would have laughed.

Promo’s new 2018 infographic is full of new and interesting statistics about online video watching habits gathered from consumers worldwide.

One common theme throughout the infographic is that videos drive engagement and action. For example, 70% of consumers visit a publisher’s website “Sometimes or “Very Often” after watching a video.

Traditionally, YouTube has been the place for video content. This seems to be changing – Facebook now has a 6% lead over YouTube in terms of where people consumer their video content most often.
