Sherpa is looking for an Account Manager on a term position until October 2022. You will be the primary contact for Sherpa clients, one’s that are seeking unique, effective and measurable technology-driven marketing solutions. The Account Manager role holds challenging and diverse responsibilities.

Managing a multitude of projects, great creative individuals keep tasks perfectly organized and tracking toward successful on-time and on-budget completion. You have the ability to pull subject matter experts from different teams together to provide best in class solutions.

Key Account Management Responsibilities:

• Work with the Sherpa internal teams and assist with the formulation of marketing strategies and campaigns across multiple communication channels and platforms (e.g. direct mail, email, web, mobile, social media, apps and sentiment tracking).
• Ensure that all strategies and tactics are consistent with the Client’s brand experience,
product/service positioning and messaging
• Communicate the client’s feedback to the creative and technology/development departments.
• Undertake administrative tasks; maintain ongoing status reports, Blue Yeti, etc.
• Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and deliver metrics reporting for campaigns.

on a larger project
• Act as a liaison between the account, design, digital marketing and programming teams to glean timely project updates and to deliver instructions and directions at critical junctures
• Assist in project estimation, project management (including budget and timelines) and proposal writing
• Possess a number of relationships and experiences that will aid in the development
of net new business, and or increasing share of wallet with existing customers
• The ability to devise marketing solutions that are inherently measurable
• Use tools to review available data to provide insights and recommendations to internal
and external stakeholders
• Occasionally Sherpas have to work long hours and may have to travel to various
events, meetings and client locations. Compensation is commensurate to the
volume and value of work.

 

Strategic Planning:

• Learn and know the Client’s products/services, programs, business culture and competitive landscape
• Understand the client’s data at a high level to uncover opportunities, provide analysis,
insight and recommendations
• Know when to focus on retention or acquisition strategies
• Understand the need for and how to create appropriate channel strategies
• Develop the client’s sales & marketing plan and communication strategies
• Present proposals, creative, timelines, and budgets to the client for approval.

Project Management:

• Assist with the preparation of and delivery of briefing documents, wireframes and initiation of new projects for the client.
• Work with Sherpa team members to oversee the status of marketing campaigns to
ensure timely delivery and advise client of delivery and/or delays.

Job Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in marketing/communications or commerce
• Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, ideally within an Agency environment and/or Sales & Marketing department
• Proficiency at managing the executional requirements of print, direct mail and digital marketing projects
• Familiarity with direct marketing and online industry best practices and ongoing industry developments
• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
• Ability to work under pressure, and quickly assimilate large quantities of information
• Detail-oriented
• Creative writing skills – e.g. ad headlines, social media
• An understanding of SEO, SEM, SERP and CRM
• An optimistic attitude and a willingness to learn
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and team skills
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• An understanding of the creative process, application development, web development and cloud services in general
• Willingness to try new work and learn new technology. If there is a period where you have bandwidth you will be asked to assist the other Account Team members with various tasks.
• Experience handling marketing budgets and forecasting/reporting results.​
