Part-Time (3 days/week) Accounting Clerk

We are looking for a part time (3 days/week), detail-oriented individual with a minimum of two years’ experience as an Accounting Clerk. There may be opportunity for this position to become full-time (5 days/week).

The successful applicant will be helping with our accounts payable/receivable tasks, including generating reports in a timely manner. It will require good judgement, confidentiality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Accounting Clerk responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Record vendor bills and credit card transactions
  • Responding to vendor inquiries
  • Ensuring that payments are made in accordance with company policy and on time
  • Resolving payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company
  • Reconcile credit card and GL accounts
  • Create and maintain reconciliations in a spreadsheet
  • Preparing and mailing invoices to customers
  • Posting payments to customer accounts
  • Record bank deposits in the accounting system
  • Follow up with accounts receivables
  • Help with month-end process
  • Light reception duties: greeting guests, shipping packages, placing office supply orders, etc.
  • Other duties as required

Experience and skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience with QuickBooks Accounting is a must
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and function under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and excellent organizational skills
  • Must present themselves in a professional manner, in both attire and written/oral communications
  • The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as an Accounting Clerk is required
