We are currently looking for a Digital Marketing Lead for our Kitchener Office. The successful applicant will support digital marketing efforts that help support the growth of the company and our clients. This role requires a strong understanding and knowledge of digital marketing activities, website development, UX/UI design, inbound marketing tactics (such as SEO, PPC, social media, etc.), as well as the ability to uphold Sherpa’s quality customer service and project management for our clients. This position will help grow, and assist in shaping, Sherpa’s Business Intelligence department by building digital marketing plans for Sherpa Marketing that positively increase exposure and new business for the company. This role will also work directly with our clients to build digital marketing strategies and tactics that positively drive web traffic, social engagement, and conversions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help map our clients’ “customer journey” and plan digital campaigns as they relate to the strategy, tactics, and KPIs for measurement
  • Maintain Google Certification in at least 4 main areas of specialization
  • Relentlessly pursue increased conversion rates while lowering the cost of acquisition
  • Uncover micro moments for Sherpa and its customers to ensure there is a presence in the critical “need to know”, “want to go”, and “how do I” instances when prospects and customers (reach for a device to) execute a query
  • Ongoing planning, management, and optimization of PPC campaigns for Sherpa and our clients
  • Creation, capture, and editing of original content for internal and external marketing
  • Develop insightful and actionable monthly and quarterly social media reports using native platforms and data-population tools like Google Analytics, Dandelion, Brandzooka, Simply Measured, Tableau, Sprout Social
  • Work with our Social Media Coordinator and Account Managers to help plan, execute, and measure monthly social media plans
  • Work with our Account Managers to build proposals and quotes for new business and RFPs
  • Project manage digital campaigns from strategy to execution
  • Work with our Business Intelligence team to extract data that measures campaign and business KPIs
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, with in-depth insights and recommendations, for the Account Managers and their clients
  • Work with our internal teams to ensure UTM codes, personal URLs, handles, hashtags, and phone numbers are tracked and measured for all outgoing marketing materials (traditional and digital)
  • Find and review new platforms for adoption, whether a new channel or software that helps improve efficacy
  • Work with internal web development teams to understand metrics that drive the wireframing and website UI design process (3D – Data Driven Design)


  • At least 3 years of experience working in an agency or client environment fulfilling tasks as described in this document
  • Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Business, or Creative Communications
  • Ability to work directly with clients and provide exceptional quality service while managing deadlines and expectations
  • Ability to manage projects with tight and demanding deadlines
  • Certified Experience with Google Analytics and Google AdWords is a must
  • Working Experience with Google Webmaster Tools and Tag Manager
  • Experience managing budgets for paid media in both a social media and search engine setting
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to grow your digital marketing knowledge and look forward to the “next big thing”

Other Duties / Bonus Skills

  • Understanding of SEM Rush, AWR Cloud, MOZ, or other SEO tools to stay current with latest search engine algorithm changes
  • Working knowledge of Adobe products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Audition
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Spotfire, Tableau, Cognos
