Over the last few years, Sherpa built a number of useful tools for Monsanto’s DEKALB business unit in Canada.

Those apps have be developed for Android and iOS operating systems and have been downloaded thousands of times. While actively promoted at various trade shows and customer events, it’s not always possible for growers to download and install an app due to poor mobile data coverage.

In order to give growers the ability to sample the suite of apps in an exciting way, DEKALB challenged Sherpa to build a giant interactive touch screen device.

You can’t exactly walk down the street to Best Buy and purchase an Android tablet so Sherpa figured out how to custom build a 55” Android tablet with a power shell that allowed growers to easily launch and interact with DEKALB’s apps – while preventing users from changing system settings or visiting inappropriate websites.

Sherpa sourced / assembled all the hardware and programmed the software for this impressive kiosk itself.

The end result was impressive and an excellent draw to the DEKALB booth at shows.
