What does being one of Canada’s fastest growing companies mean to me?

Today, Sherpa Marketing is recognized as one of Canada’s Growth 500 Fastest-Growing companies.

 

Making the Growth 500 list (formerly the Profit 500) is a business accomplishment that validates all the years of planning, risk taking and hard work of dozens of Sherpa’s current and former colleagues.

 

Keeping in mind that it’s a list of companies that volunteer to submit their financial information for scrutiny and that there are likely hundreds of companies that could have made the list, it still feels awesome.

So what does it all mean?

It means that hard work, smarts, planning and execution are key to success as a business. I’ve often said, success isn’t an accident and joining this group, proves that Sherpa shares many of the qualities of our peers on the Growth 500 list. You can be sure that our peers didn’t just accidentally make the list.

 

It means that we have a phenomenal roster of clients. While our clients represent some of Canada’s finest companies, they are so because they employ their own incredible leaders and marketers. We are humbled by the trust that they employ in Sherpa. Our clients trust Sherpa to answer the question “what should I do?”. They trust Sherpa to devise creative and effective technology driven marketing solutions that drive their company’s sales success. Without their advocacy Sherpa wouldn’t be where it is today.

 

It means that Sherpa has assembled a team of highly skilled, smart, funny, diverse and cross-functional employees. We are a team that responds quickly and follows through relentlessly. A team that pushes to constantly find blue ocean solutions and keep our clients at the frontlines of innovative, effective, measurable marketing.

 

It means that the unwavering support that my wife, Meg has given me helped Sherpa achieve this additional measure of success.

 

It means that the mentors like my father Tom and my business coach Rob saw something in me and the company to invest money and time to help Sherpa be better.
